The Pond
We’ve been keeping an eye on The Pond since its inception, and it’s been a breath of fresh air to see it flourish the way it has. There have recently been multiple online orgasms (reviews) left, right and center… and for damn good reason.
I popped down to The Pond on the opening night a few weeks ago and it definitely did not disappoint.
It was already full by the time we arrived, but the staff were lovely and took us out the front to enjoy a beer under the comfort of some cosy ferns. It didn’t take long for a table to pop up and our waitress made sure that we were seated instantly and straight away got some fresh drinks for us (who told her that the way to my heart is via beer?!)
There was an excellent choice of food which when served arrived on these traditional wooden boards that had a bit of a European feel. Couple that with the fact that we were seated at a huge communal table (held about 10 people from various social circles), I felt like a fucking viking.
The outdoor garden wasn’t ready at the time of my visit, but I plan on getting back very soon to partake in the green life.
Honestly this is an experience that needs to be felt, not read about. Being a ‘pop-up’ restaurant, it’s only open for a few months so get down and check it out before it’s gone.
